Ontario
With just under 50 years of wine making history, Ontario is the oldest wine producing region of Canada, yet is still in its infancy. The winters can be harsh in Ontario; however the presence of the fresh water Great Lakes helps to moderate the temperatures in the wine growing areas, allowing the vines to survive the winter. There are now several small boutique wineries producing a vast range of varietals and styles, positioning Ontario as an exciting region with endless possibilities.
