Veneto

italy-veneto_header

This region is famous for its Valpolicella’s, rich Ripassos, legendary Amarones and delectably sweet Recioto’s. All of these wines are a blend of Corvina, Molinara and Rondinella – the base ‘recipe’ of the Valpolicella region. From the base still wines, it is the distinct winemaking technique of appassimento, drying the grapes to concentrate flavors and sugars, which give each of these wines their unique characteristics.

While known for their red wines, Veneto also produces world class white wines. The signature white grape in this region is Lugana. A wine made famous by Sergio Zenato, Lugana thrives in vineyards overlooking the beautiful shores of Lake La Garda. The region also produces significant quantities of Pinot Grigio due to the insatiable demand from the American market.
