Gewürztraminer
Originating in the northern region of Alsace, Gewürztraminer is one of the most aromatic and perfumed white wines produced in the world. Once you’ve tasted a “Gewurtz”, you’ll always be able to pick one out in a blind tasting. With intense perfume of rose, orange blossom and lychee and its distinct pinkish hue it is very memorable. Although traditionally unoaked, Gewurztraminer still displays a very full mouth feel and an oily texture on the palate.
New World such as Chile, North Western USA and New Zealand also make wines from Gewurtztraminer but they tend to be much drier in style.
