Having been owned by numerous noble families, the Rocca di Castagnoli winery has always been considered part of the financial core of the Gaiole in Chianti village in the Tuscany region, becoming part of the farms that form the Chianti Classico Wine Consortium in 1924.

Made with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes chosen from the Buriano vineyard, this Italian wine portrays the complexity of the soil the grapevines were grown in – limestone and rock fragments typical of the Alberese area, in addition to a lengthy ageing of 18 months in barriques, 6 months in steel and 1 year in the bottle. You can find notes of sun-dried tomatoes, black pepper and dried herbs, making it a full-bodied wine perfect to be paired with a bolognese pasta, roasts, or to be shared with friends while enjoying a delicious matured cheese board.
