Bordeaux Spotlight
Discover bottles from both sides of the river.
It’s always fun to host and introduce guests to a new bottle or region and although Bordeaux is beloved by so many wine aficionados, it still impresses, even before that first sip. Below are some of our recommendations from the famous region, featuring bottles primarily from the Left Bank. With Cabernet Sauvignon as the dominant grape found on this side of the river, expect tannin and more structure in general than that of it’s Right Bank counterpart. Don’t worry, we’ve sprinkled in some picks from Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, too.

“This 2022 vintage delights with its concentration and elegance. Full and rich on the palate with Merlot’s opulent plummy fruit and fine ripe tannins being complimented by Cabernet Franc’s freshness and savory qualities. Great balance and length. Enjoy this with roast meats, lamb with fresh herbs and creamy mashed potatoes, heart stews and firm aged cheeses.”

Rich with well structured and integrated tannins with a mineral vein typical of wines grown on limestone soil. The finish is long and pleasing. This wine will develop nicely in bottle but can easily be enjoyed now with a red meats and aged cheese.”
