2 Crows Brewing Co. is the brainchild of husband and wife duo Mark and Kelly Huizink and brewer Jeremy Taylor. They brew modern beers with care and focus on quality. Their aim is to get people thinking about craftsmanship, where their beer is coming from and the various characteristics that make beer great.

Tasting Notes

An ode to one of Italy’s gifts to the craft beer world – the Italian Pilsner is everything you love about a dry, snappy, bitter German Pilsner but with a higher degree of dry hopping. The result is crisp, herbal, bready, and rounded with a subtle note of citrus and spice. These beers are very aromatic and have an almost fluffy texture.

When talking in the context of craft beer, Italian Pilsner refers to a sub-style of Pilsner that was developed in the mid-90’s by Birrificio Italiano. This lesser known Pilsner variant takes the German style Pilsner, already known for its light body and drier more hop-forward character, and dials up the dry-hopping of noble hops even more. This particular Italian Pilsner was brewed with a local floor malted Pilsner from Island Malt House, hopped with Tettnanger, Spalter Select, and Saphir in the boil, fermented cold and judiciously dry-hopped with more Saphir.
