3 Fonteinen is a Belgian brewery producing spontaneously fermented Lambic beers,  specializing in Geuze and Kriek. The brewery is situated in Beersel, near Brussels and produces classic versions of both Kriek and Geuze. They are considered one of the most prolific and traditional breweries of this rare style of beer. The beers are made with exceptional care and balance, and due to the stability of the product, they can be aged for years to come.

Tasting Notes

It’s was not uncommon for some smaller lambic breweries to buy brewed, raw lambic from other larger breweries (like Lindemans, Boon), this is still a process that happens today. The magic with gueze is in the blending of various barrels to create a special blend (much like NV Champagne). This was the case for 3 Fonteinen for decades until 1999, when the head brewer at the time, Armand saved up enough money to buy modern brewing equipment and brew his own lambic. Ever since that beer has been called the Armand & Gaston. The blend of Armand & Gaston changes with each particular bottling, so once we get the confirmed dates on the back, we’ll let you know what the blend is!
