375ml Chotard Sancerre (375ml)
The Chotard family has been making wine for well over two hundred years. Today Daniel Chotard and his wife, Brigitte, live just outside Sancerre in the village of Reigny and continue in the tradition of crafting some of the greatest expressions of Sauvignon Blanc in the world. The Chotards practice sustainable farming methods and the use of organic composts to treat the vines. They also typically harvest their grapes later than their neighbours which results in a softer style with very balanced acidity and lees ageing further rounds out the mid-palate. These are luscious and complex wines.
The wine is a light golden yellow color. The crisp and clean nose with has minerals, leafy green herbs, apples, citrus zest and white flowers. This dry wine has light to med body and crisp acidity. On the palate, crisp citrus, minerals, tart apples, are interwoven with a nice herbal note. The finish is fairly long with loads of citrus and stony minerality.
