Built in 1830 by former Excise Officer, George Donald, Annandale is one of Scotland’s oldest operational distilleries. Passing through three sets of owners (including Johnnie Walker) Annandale was long closed before being purchased by David Thomson and Teresa Church in 2007. 2014 saw their first casks distilled with the first bottling taking place in 2018.
“At Annandale we never vat or finish our Single Malts as Single Cask maturation allows us to have more control over the final flavour. Two styles of our own Single Malt are produced: smoulderingly smoky MAN O’ SWORD and smooth and mellow MAN O’ WORDS. They are inspired by the iconic Scottish heroes Robert the Bruce and Robert Burns respectively, each strongly linked to Annandale.”
