Bellwoods Jelly King Sour Cherry (500ml)
Ale Learn More
One of Canada’s most respected and prolific craft breweries to pop up in the last decade – Bellwoods continues to impress and amaze anyone who can get their hands on a bottle. It is next to impossible to buy bottles this side of Ontario, you’ll see some kegs at good beer bars from time to time but bottles are few and far between – luckily you’ve got Bishops Cellar!
DRY-HOPPED SOUR W/ SOUR CHERRY
He is a ruler, an overlord, a top dog, a crowned head. In the richly varied domain of prokaryotic microorganisms, Jelly King reigns supreme.
Rather than choosing between sour or hoppy, Bellwoods decided to create a beer that would be both at the same time. Showcasing the aromatic benefits of a generous dry hop (Citra, Amarillo, and Cascade), harnessing the pleasing acidity of lactic acid producing bacteria (they use a 5-strain house blend), and coming to a bottle near you without a pesky 2 year slumber in oak, Jelly King is the fermented embodiment of having your cake and eating it too.
What it smells like, what it tastes like, what it looks like: Unsurprisingly, this version of Jelly King places cherry on full display. Aromas and flavours of fresh tart cherry lead into a flash of cherry blasters and a baking spice finish.
