From beautiful Montague, PEI – Bogside Brewing was named Atlantic Canada’s brewery of the year, as well as new brewery of the year in the 2019. Head brewer, Mark Patriquin started his brewing game in Tatamagouche and has since gained some serious chops brewing on the West Coast. Bogside focuses on well made German styles, Belgian farmhouse, and American ales.
Be sure to check out the brewery in Montague, a brand new industrial ranch-style brewery with great food, and a large outdoor patio.
Tasting Notes
A hazy straw colour with a billowy white head. The aroma is intense and complex with extremely tropical fruits, mango, papaya, pineapple, lemon, and lime zest. With flavours of fresh mandarin oranges, lemon, and mango, with a puckering sour zip at the finish. The salty character balances the sweet and sour leaving the desire for another sip.
Method
A tart German-style wheat beer, brewed with Azacca hops, Pilsner and Wheat malt. Aith slight lemony saltiness and coriander – refreshing on a warm day, pairs well with seafood, a day at the beach or a trip on the lawnmower.
