Legend has it that Phoenician ships, carried on a steady sea breeze (“brise marine”), landed on the Mediterranean coast in the 6th century BC. They brought with them the knowledge of vine growing and winemaking. To celebrate the legend, the Estandon winemakers have created this “Brise Marine” vin de pays and invite you to taste the fruit of their region’s history.

Tasting Notes

Brilliant pale pink in the glass.   Aromas are delicate with light red fruit and Spring blossom notes. The light bodied palate is pleasantly  fresh and crisp in the style of a classical Provencal rose with delicate red fruit notes and a subtle minerality and a clean dry finish.

Method

The vines are planted on schist and silty soils at the foothills of the Massif des Maures on sunny hillside slopes in Provence.

The grapes are machine harvested at night with a short skin maceration before pressing and undergoing a temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel vats.  Prevention of malolactic fermentation. Traditional temperature-controlled vinification in stainless steel vats.
