The Spindrift Brewing Company is now called The Burnside Brewing Company
Established in Dartmouth’s Burnside Park in 2015, and immediately starting out with one single core beer, the Coastal Amber Lager. Spindrift, now Burnside Brewing, made waves throughout the province and quickly started producing a wide range of lagers, then followed with an impressive selection of barrel aged beers, and hoppy ales. All these years later, you’ll find them still focusing on a core lineup of award winning lagers, some under the side brand; Toller, as well as fruited sours, IPA’s, and thick stouts.
Tasting Notes
In honour of Oktoberfest, this traditional Festbier is a malt-forward German style lager this is deep gold with a modest aroma of toasted bread and honey. The Brew Lab is a way for the Burnside Brewing Co. to explore new flavours and styles so they can continue brewing beer that their customers (and ours) want to drink.
Method
The German Festbier is often brewed in the cool Fall months, usually around the time of Oktoberfest. It is a smooth, clean, pale German lager with a moderately strong malty flavor and a light hop character. Perfectly balances strength and drinkability, with a palate and finish that encourages drinking. Showcases elegant German malt flavors without becoming too heavy or filling.
