Cakebread Dancing Bear Cabernet Sauvignon (750ml)
Over 30 years ago, Jack Cakebread came to photograph the Napa Valley for a book, and later that same afternoon he purchased a vineyard site and Cakebread Cellars was born. The winery is such a leader in as innovative farming techniques and new methods of reaching out to consumers. Dedication to making the highest quality wines and a commitment to family has followed a continuum as their first small vineyard has grown into a thriving internationally distributed wine company.
Pronounced aromas of dark fruit, earth and forest floor precede a rich, concentrated and luscious palate wrapped with opulent and supple tannins.
Dancing Bear Ranch sits on a 29-acre vineyard at an elevation between 1,100 and 1,900 feet on Howell Mountain. The Cabernet Sauvignon vines are rooted in well-drained volcanic soil and enjoy a variety of sun exposures on the steep hillsides. Careful crop management ensures optimal ripening and flavour development, while close monitoring during fermentation and maceration captures the fruit’s intense character before 19 months maturation in French oak (about 40% new) and blending. Cabernet Franc and Merlot round out the blend.
