Château d’Épiré is a family estate located in the heart of the village of Épiré. It hasn’t been sold since the XVII century. Wine producing traditions have lived on through centuries making the Château d’Épiré one of the most prestigious domains of the Anjou region.   The most recent owners and caretakers of the land are Monsieur and Madame Luc Bizard. They own eleven hectares of vines.  The domaine sits at the highest elevation in the appellation of Savennieres and their winemaking facilities are housed within the meter thick walls of a XII century Roman church.

Tasting Notes

A smooth, fruity and youthful Anjou red ready for immediate enjoyment.

100% Cabernet Franc grapes grown on a plot in the Savennières appellation.  Viticulture is sustainable.  The grapes are handpicked and fermented in stainless steel tanks for 9 months.

The real deal. Cab Franc with character, complexity and verve. Not a simple manufactured wine. Deep and complex, a rustic funky nose and chewey, involving palate. Great value.
