Chateau du Glana Saint Julien (750ml)
Covering only 900 hectares, the tiny appellation of Saint-Julien owes its world famous reputation to the high number of Grands Crus Classés properties there, stemming from the fact that in 1855, virtually all its vineyards were considered worthy of Classed Growth status. Surrounded by neighbours such as Ducru- Beaucaillou, Branaire-Ducru, Beychevelle and Gruaud-Larose, Château du Glana is a marvellous way of getting to know the wines from this glorious region. Château Du Glana produces modern, elegant wines of character that reflect the estate’s superb terroir.
Chateau du Glana has 59 acres growing on a single block in the prestigious Saint Julien Appellation of the Medoc. Cabernet Sauvignon makes up the majority of the blend at 65% and Merlot fleshes it out. The grapes grow on Garonne gravel.
Deeply-pigmented and very rich. The fruit is ripe and not at all baked. The wine is very fresh on the nose and the palate with lots of ageing potential!
56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlotermented large traditional cement vats and malolactic fermenation takes place in stainless steel tanks, the wine is then aged for 12 months in Franch oak, 40% new.
