Chateau Ferran dates back to the 18th century. It was once owned by Robert de Ferran, solicitor at the Bordeaux Parliament, who gave his name to this exceptional vineyard, and later to the French judge and political philosopher known as Montesquieu. Since 1999 Philippe and Ghislane Lacoste, have been managing the estate. A lot of work has been done in recent years to restructure the vineyard and renovate the cellars which has quickly resulted in
numerous medals and good scores given by French, British and Amercian wine writers, particularly during the futures tastings.
Tasting Notes
The wine has managed to draw the best out of its terroir to bring an intense bouquet of dark cherries and blueberries, with light minerality. Rounded and fruity on the palate, with silky tannins and a pleasing long finish.
Method
70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Petit Verdot.
