Produced by Bodegas Miguel Arroyo.  Miguel is the 4th generation of winemakers and took over the family estate in 2004.  He maintained the old vineyards, but also planted new vineyards and created a completely new and modern bodega.  The vineyards are situated at the most southwestern region of Rueda. The soil is sandy and remained largely free of phyloxera so that some vines are not grafted.  The estate has some of the oldest and original clones of Verdejo which are farmed organically.  This bodega focuses on producing quality Verdejo.

Tasting Notes

Aromas of stone fruit and tropical fruit such as peach, nectarine, lychee are accompanied by fresh green herbs like dill and anise. The palate is bright with a saline minerality that balances the ripe fruit.  Ideal as a refreshing aperitif but also pairs well with light fish dishes, and summer salads.

The grapes grow in a continental climate with high diurnal temperature range which contibutes to the wine’s acid retention and freshness.  The vineyards lie at an altitude of 850m and are composed of sand, ancient seabed rocks and limestone.  Del Mimo is the name of the vineyard.  The grapes are hand-picked in the cool of the early morning to preserve the fresh character of the wine. Temperature controlled fermentation in stainless steel with no malolactic fermentation followed by a short rest period in stainless steel tanks under inert gas the wine before bottling.
