Denis Meunier is a young vigneron producing organic wines from his small Loire Valley domaine in the Vouvray appellation.  In 2012, Denis took over 13 hectares of Chenin Blanc (some vines up to 65 years old) from his father and uncle. He converted the domaine to organic farming practices out of “respect for the terroir”.  The soil here is the distinctive gravelled tuffeau and clay-silex which brings an wonderful minerality to the wines.

Tasting Notes

Ripe yellow plum, golden delicious apple aromas and flavours.  Well focused, pure and lively with lots of concentration and a long finish.

Made from organic low yielding Chenin Blanc grapes grown on flinty limestone soil.  Gently pressed and cool fermented in stainless steel.  Following the fermentation, the wine is racked and aged on the fine lees in tank, cold stabilized and bottled.  This Vouvray is classified as Sec with about 9g/l of residual sugar.
