Nicolas Rossignol property is the 5th generation of family winegrowers in the Volnay appellation of Burgundy. He trained within various estates and has been in charge of winemaking at Domaine Rossignol-Jeanniard since 1994. Nicolas Rossignol created his eponymous estate in 1997 and sources fruit from the appellations of Volnay , Pommard , Beaune , Aloxe-Corton and Pernand-Vergelesses. In 2011, the two domains Rossignol-Jeanniard and Nicolas Rossignol merged under the name of Domaine Nicolas Rossignol. Covering an area of 30 hectares spread over 30 appellations, the vineyard is cultivated in a traditional way, in reasoned pest management, and according to methods inspired by biodynamics.
Tasting Notes
This is a classic red Burgundy marked by delicate aromas of red fruit, some floral notes and earth. The palate shows wonderful tension and minerality and tangy red fruits. Wonderfully balanced and fresh from start to finish. Enjoy with poultry, pork and mushroom based dishes.
Method
Pernand-Vergelesses Premier Cru Fichots is made from grapes from vines aged 40 and 60 years old. Located mid-slope, under the Iles de Vergelesses opposite the Corton-Charlemagne appellation, this vineyard is made up of clay-limestone soil rich in iron and microelements from the bedrock.

The tasting notes say it all. Classic burgundy. A beautiful wine to enjoy all on its own. Drinking well above its price point.
