Situated in the Terrasses du Larzac sub-district of the Coteaux du Languedoc, Domaine de Malavieille has been in Mirieille Bertrand’s family for 6 generations. It is an estate steeped in tradition, with dinosaur footprints and Gallo-Roman archeological remains serving as a testament to a long history of the land and its people.  The domaine is certified organic and biodynamic.   

Tasting Notes

A brilliant yellow in the glass with a very expressive nose of ripe stone fruit (peach and apricot), violet, some light lanolin notes and brioche.  The palate is ample and round and combines fruit freshness, floral notes with smoke, spice and salinity.  The wine is quite complex and layered.  Serving suggestions include aromatic and spiced dishes or aged cheeses.  

Method

This is a blend of typical Languedoc Roussillon white grapes that varies each vintage.  This vintage is a blend of Vermentino, Viognier and Roussanne.  There are no sulfites added during the winemaking process.  After fermentation the wine ages in barriques before the blend is assembled.
