Domaine Fournier Longchamps is a family estate, situated in Rochefort sur Loire in Maine-et-Loire. Philip Fournier built this estate in the heart of Anjou back in 2006, naming the winery after his parents. In 2009, his son Julien took the reins and with a small team, strives to back the estate an exceptional wine destination. Today, their 43 ha of vines are spread across Savrnnières, Roche aux Moines, Anjou Blanc and Anjou Villages, Coteaux du Layon, Coteaux du Layon 1er Cru Chaume and Quarts de Chaume Grand Cru appellations. All of their wines are certified organic, using the principles of the biodynamic calendar.

Tasting Notes

On the nose, white flowers and lime spring to mind. On the palate, intense citrus notes with subtle smoke, mouthwatering acidity, and a firm, mineral backbone. Pair with goat cheese, lighter chicken fare, or your favourite seafood dish.

Method

Made from 100% Chenin Blanc, the grapes come from the Fremine vineyard, a 3.3 ha plot with vines an average of 10 years old.  The grapes are harvested from early September to mid October in multiple passings to achieve balance and complexity.  After fermentation, with no malolactic conversion, the wine ages in large wooden vats for six months before bottling.
