In the 1970’s, Francois Lumpp and his brother inherited the family property in the Cote Chalonnaise and in 1991 founded his own label with his wife Isabelle. He established his vineyard using cuttings if older selected bud wood around Givry’s best premier cru sites on the mid to upper slopes of the hillsides. Givry is known for its refined and approachable red wines, with the best examples having the capacity to age as much as the premier crus of the Cote de Beaune. Lumpp is a vigneron making wine is a specific village; he planted and nurtured these vines himself and makes his own wine.

Tasting Notes

Givry is one of the premium red wine producing appellations in the Cote Chalonnaise producing approachable and refined wines. Pinot Noir is sourced from Southern and Southwestern exposed slopes at 850 feet above sea level and Eastern and Southeastern sun exposure at 836 feet above sea level. Primary fermentation in stainless steel tanks with light punch downs and aged in barrel (70% new) for one year with one racking before bottling.
