In the 80s, Jean-Marc actively participated in vineyard work and eventually, his father trusted him to make some of his own wine with their grapes. A few years later, Jean-Marc met Eliane during their wine studies and their shared passion for vines (and wine) led them to travel to other wine regions, acquiring knowledge along the way. Eventually. they settled back in France and took over the 36 ha of family land around Perpignan, Canet, and Maury- eventually taking over the entire family estate in 2001. The acquisition of Mas Miraflors took place in 2006; Jean-Marc and Eliane are 7th generation vignerons in the heart of the Roussillon.

Tasting Notes

Pouring a pale, salmon colour, the nose has an intense bouquet of rose, strawberry, and white peach. On the palate, these flavours persist, resulting in a light and juicy expression of Rosé. Use as an aperitif, pair with a number of seafood dishes, or serve alongside lighter, chicken fare.

Made from a blend of Mourvedre, Grenache Gris, and Grenache Noir, the grapes come from sustainably farmed vines planted on steep slopes arranged in narrow terraces, where all the work is manual as tractor access is often impossible.  Picked early to ensure a fresher style, the grapes are pressed without crushing to achieve that pale, pink hue.

Perhaps one of my favourites to date
While making several tours to the southern half of the great continent of Australia, I was introduced at every stop from Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide (my favourite city) and Perth to a huge selection of their Rosé wines and many were of exceptional quality. I cannot pretend to be a wine expert but, perhaps because of my three trips down under or is it, over up, I am partial to Rosé wines and greatly appreciate the wide selection kept in stock by Bishop’s Cellar and they bring new selections in on a very regular basis. Of their Rosé in the price range under $35, I have to say that this wine is one of my favourites to date.
