Catherine and François have a 45-hectare wine estate in Vallet, in the heart of the Muscadet Sèvre et Maine appellation area. Growing Muscadet’s one and only grape variety, Melon, is their passion. They are committed to an approach that respects the soil, the climate and the natural environment. Catherine Boulanger has been running the family estate since 1991. Her father Jean used to manage the vineyard for 30 years. Generosity and energy are qualities we can find in Catherine’s wines (maybe because that’s the way she is too !). Catherine and François grow classic Loire varietals such as Melon de Bourgogne (Muscadet), Gamay, Cabernet Franc, and Sauvignon Blanc, Moulin Camus produces IGP and Vin de France wines along with wines from other Loire appellations.
Tasting Notes
Pale yellow with green highlights with a fine, persistent bead. The aromas are powerful, with lovely citrus notes further enhanced by the tiny bubbles. This traditional method sparklign wine makes an excellent aperitif but is also a fabulous pairing with creamed sole
fillets, meringues and maccarons. Drink well chilled. To be drinked withing 2 years
Method
The Loire Valley is known for these high quality sparkling wines and the entire category of Loire Valley Sparkling wines is known as Fines Bulles (fine bubbles).
This is a traditional method spearkling wine made from Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Pinot Noir and Grolleau Gris grown on clay and sand soils. The grapes were hand harvested and pressed with a pneumatic press. Fermented in tank and aged on the lees for a minimum of 12 months before bottling.
