Indie Ale House in Toronto’s Junction neighborhood has been established since 2012. Since that time they’ve gone on to assert themselves as one of the city’s best brewpubs, and even in the last couple years expanding to a full sized brewery. Their range of styles goes from refreshing lagers, all the way to a full-fledged barrel program. And if you think that’s impressive, wait till you try their fried chicken.
This Pilsner is clear and golden with a full white head. The maltiness of the beer suggests a grainy, fresh bread flavour balanced by Saaz hops which give it crisp, herbal bitterness that lingers through the finish. This is one of the best Pilsners we’ve tried all year – worth the splurge!
Brewed in the Czech style of Pils, malt is the star here. Usually only brewed with the very pale Pilsner malt and hopped with the Czech Saaz hop, known for it’s spicy, and floral aromas. Fermented cold, and lagered at cold temperatures for an extended period of time to create a supremely crisp, refreshing mouthfeel.
