Ironworks is a micro-distillery located in the old port of Lunenburg on Nova Scotia’s historic South Shore. They take their name from the 1893 heritage building they call home: a marine blacksmith’s shop that once produced ironworks for the shipbuilding trade.
“We feel privileged to be able to work with great growers, and their exceptional fruit. We welcome you to share the tastes of Nova Scotia in our spirits and liqueurs”
Tasting Notes
From the distillery: This cranberry liqueur has a beautiful color. The aromas are fresh and fruity without smelling sweet or confected. The liqueur wonderfully captures the tartness of cranberry while combining with the sweetness of a liqueur that can be enjoyed by itself or as an addition to a cocktail.
Method
Halfway between Lunenburg and Blue Rocks lies Heckman Island – home of Terra Beata Cranberry Farms and the natural inspiration for adding Cranberry Liqueur to the Ironworks collection of fruit-based spirits. Over the years Ironworks has developed an extensive network of farmers exclusively within Nova Scotia from whom they buy their products from. Their cranberries travel a mere 8 kilometres from bog to distillery and no fruit travels more than 150 kilometres. 100% gluten free.
