Joseph Cattin Pinot Gris Reserve (750ml)
Around 1850, Antoine Cattin established a wine estate that later became Joseph Cattin. Today, the estate is operated by Jacques Cattin, engineer, agronomist and winemaker, and his wife Anais, who is responsible for the international sales department. They craft varietal wines that are pure expressions of the Alsatian style.Grown on mostly clay and limestone, this wine was made utilizing limited yields. Guyot pruning is used, with 5 500 vines per ha on average. Sustainable farming practices were used to preserve the richness of their unique terroirs.
This wine enjoys an extraordinary aromatic complexity. Medium intensity golden hue. Flavours of cardamom, vanilla and cinnamon mix with light apricot and tangerine flavours.
Spicy, smoky and off-dry, it accompanies well dishes with pronounced flavors such as game, roasts, prawns and foie-gras. In Alsace, it is traditionally enjoyed with Baeckeoffe- a type of rich and rustic casserole dish.
