La Baronne Le Grenache Gris de Jean (750ml)
The Lignères family cultivates organic and biodynamic wines around the Alaric Mountain in a priviledged corner of Languedoc – Roussillon. La Baronne grows a selection of typical grapes from this region, but the family has a special affection for Carignan and are constantly striving to heighten the expression, finesse and elegance of this emblematic regional variety. The domaine is proud to cultivate one of the oldest Carignan vines of the Languedoc dating back to 1892.
This wine has been made with very minimal intervention; hand-harvesting, skin contact maceration in terra cotta amphoraes for three months. Vinification with indigenous yeasts and no addition of sulfur until the beginning of aging in tank. Bottled unfiltered and unfined.
Pronounced stone fruit, flowers and spice on the nose with underlying herbaceous and balsamic notes.
