La Mura is an organic wine. The vineyards are located on the coast of Sicily, bathed by the air of the Mediterranean sea and benefiting from plenty of sun. These dry, well ventilated and sunny conditions make it easy to grow healthy grapes, free of parasites and mildew. The brand offers alternative and unconventional flavors, and great value for money. La Mura Bianco Terre Siciliane IGT well represents the flavors of this beautiful island.
The palate has hints of citrus and tropical fruits, and is mouth-filling with excellent balancing acidity. The wine is light bodied, crisp and fresh with ripe fruit, a dry palate and a clean finish. Enjoy on its own, with Mediterranean inspired appetizers, with cold salads, seafood and white meats.
Made from organically grown Pinot Grigio from the Marsala and Salemi areas of western Sicily. The grapes are hand harvested in mid-September, destemmed and softly pressed. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled tanks at 18°C for about 10 days. The first racking takes place after fermentation is complete. The wine is then left on the fine lees for several months to add complexity. The wine is carefully managed to avoid malolactic fermentation and preserve a good level of acidity.
