Lightfoot & Wolfville Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut (750ml)
This family-owned winery in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley is dedicated to certified organic and biodynamic agriculture alongside Old World winemaking techniques.
The Chardonnay grapes were handpicked from the Lightfoot Estate Vineyard in Wolfville on October 6th 2013. That growing season saw warm, dry days and cool nights, resulting in perfectly ripened sparkling wine grapes; elegantly concentrated yet maintaining vibrancy. The wine underwent partial malolactic fermentation and maturation in neutral French oak barrels and aged three years on the lees. With a dosage of just 4 g/L of residual sugar, this wine is crisp and dry. Bright yellow with green highlights in the glass, aromas of lemon balm, hazelnut and light toast notes are nuanced by smoky undertones. The palate is dominated by green apple, lemon rind and flint. A fine, yet vibrant effervescence gives way to a creamy mid-palate, structured frame and persistent finish. Elegant, complex, fresh!
