Luca Winery, established by Dr. Laura Catena, is dedicated to preserving Mendoza’s old vines and highlighting the region’s rich viticultural heritage. By collaborating with small-scale growers, Luca ensures the continuation of traditional farming practices, resulting in wines that authentically express their unique terroirs.
Tasting Notes
Deep red-purple in the glass with intense aromas of spice, cola, black cherry and dark chocolate. The palate has deep berry fruit flavours; chrry, raspberry, along with plum, violet and sage with underlying mocha notes. The palate is full, pleasantly dry but with ripe juicy fruit flavours. The tannins are ripe and approachable and the wine is balanced by vibrant acidity. Enjoy this Malbec with game, steak, pork, even quail or medium-strong cheeses.
Method
This wine is made from old vine Malbec from La Consulta, Paraje Altamira and Pampa El Cepillo in the Uco Valley, Mendoza. It was aged for 14 months, 35% in new French oak and the rest in used barrels.
