Tasting Notes
From the distillery: In the glass, rich Butterscotch colour. On the nose, subtle peat smoke, dark chocolate shavings, runny honey, and vanilla fudge. On the palate, flavours of old leather, cedar wood and gentle undertones of peat, alongside oodles of cocoa, vanilla pods, and sweet spices.
Method
MacNair’s Lum Reek 21-year-old is a marriage of Single Malts from Islay and Speyside – two of the most sought-after whisky regions in Scotland – combining both peated and unpeated spirit to create a perfectly balanced and complex malt. The recipe, concocted by industry veteran and Master Distiller/Blender of the Year, Billy Walker, includes aged GlenAllachie single malt.
The small batch expression was matured to perfection at The GlenAllachie Distillery in a combination of Oloroso sherry, red wine and virgin oak casks expertly sourced from across the globe. The resulting whisky, offered without added colouring or chill-filtration, is brimming with dark chocolate, vanilla fudge, and cinnamon buns, all with gentle peat undertones. 48% abv.

This is an amazing mellow blended scotch with a much higher priced palate.
