On the French island of Corsica, high in the foothills of Monte Grossu mountain, inland from Calvi, lies the granite plateau of Reginu. Here the days are hot and dry and thanks to the high altitude, the nights are cool, located just a short distance from the sea, the maritime winds also moderate the temperature and benefit the vines. The plateau has been continuously used for vine and olive growing for centuries.
This is a blend of 35% Nielluccio, 15% Sciacarello, 15% Syrah and 35% Grenache. The wine undergoes a short maceration to maintain the freshness of fruit and lightness. With only 6 months ageing in stainless steel, this is a style crafted to be enjoyed young. It is deep red in colour with a purple hue, there are some notes of natural wine making happening on the nose followed by aromas of red fruits, hay along with come leather and game. The palate is smooth with flavours of cherries, red currants, licorice and a hint of game.
