Located in the heart of one of the most historic denominations of origin in Spain, the Cooperativa Vinícola San Valero is the result of the fusion of ancestral knowledge with the new contributions of research, development and innovation in the wine sector. The cooperative was founded in 1944 by a group of 66 farmers in the area and has since grown to bring together more than 500 vine and wine professionals. The cooperative is highly regarded in Spain and internationally for its production of high quality and excellent value wines, including its large organic range.
Tasting Notes
This is a beautifully balanced full bodied red offering great value. The palate is plush with ample bramble fruit, just a hint of oak, spice and an underlying fresh herb note. The wine’s generous, palate and pronounced flavours are well suited to grilled meats and vegetables.
Method
This pure Garnacha spends at least two months in barrels. Malolactic fermentation and then a touch of oak ageing impart a smooth, almost creamy texture to the rich dark fruit, and from somewhere there’s a bright, almost minty herbal note that glitters through the full, vibrant bramble and cherry character.
