Monte delle Vigne Lambrusco
Monte delle Vigne is in Emilia Romagna, located on gentle hills that slope down from a height of 300 meters to the right bank of the river Taro, deep soils rich in clay and limestone and night breezes that lower summer temperatures make this place a unique terroir. High-density planting, 6,000 plants per hectare, with a strain production that does not exceed 1,5 kg of grapes. Each plant has a productive natural balance that let it express the most of its production potential.
This fabulously inviting, sparkling red bursts all the myths about Lambrusco by being dry and joyously drinkable. Grown organically on clay and limestone soils the results are fantastic. Fresh bright black cherry, blackberry fruit, some attractive fermentary notes, mouthfeel is ripe and fresh, nice depth of dark cherry and plum, blackberry fruit, decent grip and fresh acidity. 100% Lambrusco Maestri.
“This is Lambrusco, but not as you know it. The very sweet, cheap stuff has been replaced here with something vibrant and crunchy. It has black cherry and plum fruit and plenty of fresh acidity. There is a nice sweetness, but at just 10 grams of residual sugar it helps to balance out the acidity rather than dominate the wine. A very quaffable discovery that is perfect as an aperitif or with a platter of salami; it will be gone before you know it.” – Decanter 90 pts
