Monte delle Vigne is in Emilia Romagna, located on gentle hills that slope down from a height of 300 meters to the right bank of the river Taro, deep soils rich in clay and limestone and night breezes that lower summer temperatures make this place a unique terroir. High-density planting, 6,000 plants per hectare, with a strain production that does not exceed 1,5 kg of grapes. Each plant has a productive natural balance that let it express the most of its production potential.
Tasting Notes
Ruby red color with violet reflections. Intense and vinous bouquet combined with hints of red fruit, black cherry, cherry and wild berries. Enjoy with rich meats and cured meats, pork sausages and baked ham.
Method
Made from organically grown Lambrusco Maestri grapes, one of the lesser planted varieties of Lambrusco family of vines. The vines grow at elevations of 200 m above sea level on calcareous soil. The grapes are hand harvested and undergo a short maceration on the skins at temperatures of 20-25 Celsius. The wine undergoes a second fermentation in tank, Charmat Method, to obtain it’s bubbles.
