Tasting Notes
BitterJuicyTropical
First opening their doors in 1997, Propeller Brewing Company has gone from a small brewery on Gottingen St. brewing a Pale Ale and an Extra Special Bitter to become one of the largest brewery’s in Nova Scotia and a driving force in this industry. Owner John Allen has allowed the business to grow and branch into multiple locations and a comprehensive product line that includes beer, ready to drink cocktails, and craft sodas. They have won awards both locally and nationally for a wide array of products and continue to experiment with new styles and old favourites.
Tasting Notes
Exploding with intense tropical hops, Sabro DIPA is hazy and hugely flavourful. Experimental Sabro hops blend rich and robust aromas of passion-fruit, coconut, and pineapple. Smooth body and balanced bitterness.
Method
The Double IPA features high hop bitterness, flavour and aroma. Hop character is fresh and evident from the abundant use of new world hops. Alcohol content is medium-high to high and notably evident with a medium-high to full body. Double IPA is all about extreme levels of hop aroma and flavour that is balanced with a pale malt backbone.
This Sabro DIPA uses the Sabro hop, known for it’s distinct notes of tangerine, coconut, tropical fruit, and stone fruit aromas, with hints of cedar, mint, and cream.
