Rebholz Riesling Trocken (750ml)
The Rebholz family’s connection to the vine dates back to the 16th century and today the estate is regarded as one of Germany’s top ten producers of fine wine. The estate’s 22 ha are located in the Pfalz region and are farmed biodynamically. Mr. Rebholz is an outspoken proponent of Germany’s Grosses Gewächs movement.
Its no secret that Riesling tends to get a bad rap for being broadly categorized as unpleasantly sweet. However, this bio-dynamic and organic offering from the Pfalz region proves to be both dry and mouth-wateringly delicious. With petrol and citrus on the nose, those flavours are echoed on the palate with an added dose of minerality that dances on the tongue. This trocken (dry) Riesling is light in body and is best enjoyed with a delicate fish like halibut or as an apertif.
