The Tatamagouche Brewing Company (commonly referred to as “Tata”) is a family owned and operated craft brewery located in the heart of Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. In 2014, the family converted an old butcher shop into a brewery, and have since added several additions to the sides and back of the building to help accommodate their growth. Tata Brew is one of only a handful of Certified Organic breweries in Nova Scotia, and their beers have won awards provincially as well as nationally.

Tasting Notes

The barnyard notes from the aged sour beer plays a background note to the fresh and lively acidic character of the beer. Notes of citrus rind, candied lemon, and mineral tones mix well with the earthy and spicy ginger. The peach comes through subtly, adding a thin layer of stone fruit across the beers profile. The mouthfeel is light, with moderate tart acidity that cleans up on the finish to dry it out.

6.3% abv

Like Monarch, Iphias is a blend of barrel aged sours, but this beer was re-fermented on peach purée and ginger juice. After that fermentation is complete, the beer is bottled and left to bottle-condition to create lively carbonation with a bone dry finish.

This beer will age beautifully and continue to develop with time.
