The Fleith name has deep roots in Alsatian viticulture.  In 1661 Antoine Fleith planted a vineyard here.  Skip a head a few generations to the 1970s where René Fleith establishes 4 hectares of vines and a wine estate and began to sell his wines.  Today, Vincent Fleith, looks after wine production at the estate.  He took some time to work in the wine industries of California, Australia and Beaujolais and returned home to Alsace to run the now 9 hectare estate.  He practices biodynamic viticulture and is a member of the association Vignes Vivantes.  His commitment producing authentic wines that express terroir is evident in each sip.

Tasting Notes

Pale in the glass, fine bubbles with layers of aromas ranging from peach and nectarine to brioche.  The palate fresh and crunchy.

This sparkling is a categorized as Crémant d’Alsace AOC and is a Brut Nature, meaning it is very dry with no dosage (sweetening juice added).  As per the appellation standards, the wine undergoes a second fermentation and is required to age for a minimum of one year, including 9 months on the lees in bottle to acquire its tiny bubbles and added aromatic and textural complexity.  Vincent does not add sulfur to his Cremant, which is an added bonus!

Fun and easy drinking. The grape blend is an interesting one producing wonderful aromatics of Turkish delight, marzipan, and honeyed tangerine on the nose. Light on the palate with fresh acidity makes it easy to drink on its own. Love the lack of dosage and biodynamic viticulture. Great value.
