Founded in 1040, Weihenstephan just may be the oldest continuously operated brewery in the world. Although that claim is debated, what’s not debated is the quality of their beer. Considered by many to make the best wheat beer in the world, along with a wide array of other Bavarian classics. When you drink Weihenstephaner, you’re drinking history, and world-class quality.

Tasting Notes

This beer stands out with its exquisite head of white foam. Enticing aromas of cloves and delicate banana rise through the fine bubbles. Fruity nuances of banana and cloves intermingle with biscuity malt flavors to create a balanced beer with a light, creamy character. This premium, naturally cloudy, golden wheat beer is truly a feast for the senses. It is the ideal reward at the end of a long day.

This is the beer that the German wheat beer style category is usually judged by. One of the most decorated beers in its category.

Made with 50-60% malted wheat in the grain bill to give the beer not only a hazy appearance, but also better head retention and silky mouthfeel. The other notable ingredient is the very specific strain of German Weissbier (ale) yeast that produces the styles unique aromas of clove, pepper, bananas, and sometimes bubblegum.
