Zenato is a historic and well respected name in Northern Italy’s Veneto region. Sergio Zenato started the winery in 1960 and today the family tradition in winemaking is carried on by his children Alberto and Nadia. The estate produces a range of white and red wines.

The decision to produce a sparkling wine from Trebbiano di Lugana grapes dates back to the foundation of the winery in 1960s. The deep knowledge of this variety that has a high capacity of adaption to climatic and environmental conditions, is the heritage of Sergio Zenato, who has learnt how to make the best of it. The creation a classic method sparkling wine enhances the features of the grape.

The must obtained by light pressing is fermented with the natural yeasts of the grape at a controlled temperature of 16 °C in stainless steel tanks.  The wine is then bottled for the secondary fermentation in the bottle. The bottles stand in racks for 18 months and the wine evolves and matures thanks to the action of the yeasts, with the release of aromas from cellular breakdown. The bottles are then clarified and then the deposit is removed by dégorgement.
