Barrelling Tide Distillery is located in Port William’s in Nova Scotia’s beautiful Annapolis Valley. They believe good things take time; and quality will forever come before quantity. All of their spirits and liqueurs are handcrafted in small batches on-site. Port Williams and surrounding areas in the Annapolis Valley boast some of the most beautiful scenery in the Maritimes. Known for being the agricultural heartland, the area is famous for its fruit crops.
Their spirits and liqueurs are bottled in quality glass. They distill all of their products in small batches, so they can closely monitor the quality. The fruit for their liqueurs is sourced from the Annapolis Valley and the grains used are local as commodity permits.
Tasting Notes
The first taste of fresh after a long Canadian winter; tangy, sweet and tart and a little bit saline. Enjoy chilled or served alongside a strawberry rhubarb pie with vanilla icecream or in lieu of dessert.
Method
The rhubarb is sourced from a farm along The Bay of Fundy in the Annapolis Valley; you can taste the salt from the water off the skin of the rhubarb. This is a hand crafted liqueur made with locally sourced ingredients. It does not contain any artificial colours, flavours or preservatives. In order to maintain the optimum quality of the liqueur, it is best used within the first 4-6 months after opening.
