Chateau Fieuzal has Irish owners and a winemaker with extensive ‘New World’ experience; their unique sensibility makes Fieuzal a modern expression of Bordeaux that is appreciated worldwide. Like the contemporary artists they admire and collect, they are open to influences and unafraid to experiment. Rather than confining themselves to classical theory and traditional methods, Fieuzal breaks the mold and stands out.
Fieuzal creates wines that are memories of the past that can be preserved and enjoyed at any time. With 30 years of experience in the winemaking industry, winemaker Stephen Carrier believes there is no “right time” to drink a wine, but that a truly great wine is good throughout its life. From the planting of a new vine to the many decades after a wine is bottled, every moment in between is part of an exciting journey that keeps wines and the art of winemaking alive.
Freshness is the backbone of Fieuzal’s spirit, Fieuzal’s vision, and every Fieuzal blend. Freshness allows our wines to be energetic yet refined, and most importantly, it allows them to evolve over time.
Tasting Notes
Deeply pigmented with bright purple highlights. Discreet aromas, with peppery and vanilla notes, all carried by a fruity framework combining blackcurrant, redcurrant and blackberry. A rounded attack and a velvety texture on the palate with ample tannins providing a remarkable structure followed by beautiful balancing freshness.
Method
The wines of Château de Fieuzal possess a distinctive charm, inseparable from the place from which they originate. This is a deliciously complex blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc; the blend authentically expresses the incredible diversity of the vineyard. Aged for an average of 12 months in French oak barrels, this wine is elegant, expressive, and dynamic throughout its life.
