Chateau Fonplegade St Emilion Grand Cru 2021 (750ml)

Château Fonplégade’s name (literally “fountain of plenty”) was derived from the historic 13th century stone fountain that graces the estate’s vineyard. It quenched the thirst of passing pilgrims for hundreds of years, and continues to provide sustenance to the estate’s vines in the driest vintages.

Today Chateau Fonplegade is an impressive 45.5 acre estate with a mosaic of geologically diverse soils.  The vineyard is divided into 27 parcels that are farmed biodynamically and make up an artist’s palette of terroirs that provides an array of aromatic, flavour and structural components to the wines.  The estate is situated close to the famous Château Angelus.  Owners Denise and Stephen Adams work with wine consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt to craft their refined Saint Emilion wines.
