Few distilleries have gained as much prestige and momentum in such a short period of time like Kavalan has. Kavalan takes its name from Yilan Countys old name, the area at which it is located in north-eastern Taiwan. Founded in 2005 by Mr. Tien-Tsai Lee, the entrepreneur knew that in order to compete with the global whisky heavyweights, they had to create a spirit of exceptional quality. Calling in no other than renowned Dr. Jim Swan (the Einstein of whisky) they set into motion a plan for production, as well as future maturation to ensure Kavalan’s longevity.

Having a consistently expanding core range, the expressions that put Kavalan on the map and sky rocketed them into whisky world fame was their “Solist” line. Bottled at cask strength and in batches, this range uses different barrels to showcase the whisky’s unique fruit flavour. Kavalan is now one of the ten largest malt whisky distilleries in the world, with no signs of slowing down.
