This wine is made by Bodegas Principe de Viana. The story of the winery is marked by the history of the land of Navarra, and Carlos de Evreux, first Prince of Viana, an aristocratic title which has been held since 1423 by the heirs to the throne of Navarre, and Spain thereafter. Bodegas Príncipe de Viana was born with an entrepreneurial spirit just over 30 years ago. Today they are leaders in research, innovation and bringing quality wines that respect traditions to their customers.
Tasting Notes
Dry and fresh, it offers subtle stone fruit flavors of apricot and peach as well as lychee. The palate is light and refreshing with crisp finish. This wine is ideally enjoyed as an easy going aperitif or to accompany delicate fish dishes and salads.
Method
A blend of Viura and Chardonnay grapes from alluvial terraced vineyards located along the Ebro and Aragon rivers in Navarra, North eastern Spain. These alluvial soils provide the right balance of drainage and nutrients to the vines. This is an extreme climate; the area experiences harsh winters and hot summertime temperatures with sparse rainfall, mostly in the spring months. The grapes are harvested and macerated for a few hours before fermentation at 14 °C. The wine is bottled after a gentle clarification.
