Armand Heitz Saint Aubin Travers de Chez Edouard (750ml)

Armand Heitz practices what he calls “common sense” farming.  He and his team work daily to reduce the environmental impact of their activities. They regenerative agriculture and permaculture in order to create a harmonious and sustainable ecosystem. In the vineyard, their main objective is to bring life back to the soil. Seeding, grassing, compost and mulch meet the specific needs of each plot . The objective is to nourish the soil with all the materials they have available in order to limit the use of external inputs as much as possible. 

In 2017, Armand wanted to diversify his farm by livestock farming; he felt that this was a more virtuous agronomic model and wanted to reintegrate animals into the heart of the farm.  They consume grass and harmful insects and return as much microbiology to the soil as possible with their droppings. They recycle waste and contribute to natural selection.  In Armand’s words “A pasture without animals is a pasture doomed to disappear.”

The winemaking style aims to be the least interventionist possible.  Armand aims to highlight each plot and each vintage.
