Lightfoot & Wolfville 2015 Riesling Launch FREE Tasting In Store

We are thrilled to host our friends at Lightfoot & Wolfville as they unveil their first Riesling!

This Riesling was handpicked from the certified organic and biodynamic Lightfoot Estate vineyard in Wolfville. Typical Nova Scotian rainfall throughout the season provided an opportunity for botrytis to form. The cool nights and dry weather that followed allowed the noble rot to shrivel berries, concentrating the sugars and acids and imparting a distinctive flavour profile. Approximately 15% of the clusters harvested for this wine were botrytis affected, providing added depth and complexity.

Due to open in 2017, this family-owned winery in Nova Scotia’s Annapolis Valley is dedicated to certified organic and biodynamic agriculture alongside Old World winemaking techniques. Furthermore, Lightfoot & Wolfville have also committed to producing classic vinifera grapes such as Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Riesling, and other German-style wines selected for their micro-climate.
